Terms and Conditions
These terms explain how attendance at our school works: how your child joins, what you pay and when, how the day runs and how the contract can end. We've tried to write them so they can be read in ten minutes.
1. Who we are

Referred to as "the provider" or "we". The parent or other legal guardian who signs the contract with us is "you".
2. What these terms cover
2.1 These terms form part of the attendance contract for your child (the "contract") that we sign together. If the contract says something different from these terms, the contract applies.
2.2 Filling in the form on our website or visiting the school does not create a contract. It's simply an arrangement to get to know each other.
3. What we provide, and what we are not
3.1 We run a private preschool facility with an all-day programme in English. The service includes care for your child, an educational programme, meals (lunch and two snacks) and afternoon activities according to the weekly schedule.
3.2 We operate under a trade licence. We are not a kindergarten listed in the Register of Schools and School Facilities, nor a children's group (dětská skupina). We say this openly because it has two consequences:
- The compulsory final year of preschool education before primary school is fulfilled with us through individual education (individuální vzdělávání). You enrol your child at your catchment kindergarten and notify it of individual education. Your child then keeps coming to us. We'll help you with the paperwork, keep track of the deadlines and prepare your child for the short review at the kindergarten. The enrolment and the notification must be submitted by you, and as the legal guardian you are responsible for them.
- Our prices include VAT, and the rules and subsidies that apply to kindergartens and children's groups do not apply to attendance at our school.
3.3 We usually accept children aged 3 to 6. There are never more than 20 children at the school at once, in two groups by age.
4. Enrolment and the contract
4.1 It's simple: you come and visit, and once you decide, we sign a written contract and you pay the registration fee. Paying the registration fee reserves your child's place.
4.2 The contract is concluded for one school year, which means 10 months from September to June. If your child starts during the year, the contract runs until the end of that school year.
4.3 In the contract we agree the start date, the schedule (number of days a week, full day or mornings) and the price. The schedule can be changed during the year by agreement if we have space on those days.
4.4 Before your child starts, you give us your contact details and those of anyone who may pick up your child, and any health information we need to know (allergies, dietary restrictions, regular medication).
5. Fees
5.1 The price list published on our website on the day the contract is signed applies, together with the price stated in the contract. All prices are monthly and include 21% VAT.
| Schedule | 5 days a week | 4 days a week | 3 days a week |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full day, 8:00 to 17:30 | 23,700 CZK | 20,900 CZK | 18,300 CZK |
| Mornings, 8:00 to 13:00 | 16,900 CZK | 15,500 CZK | 14,100 CZK |
5.2 The price includes lunch, two snacks and drinks (all food is 100% organic) and every activity on the weekly schedule: drumming, yoga and dance, cooking, the gym, arts and crafts, and science experiments. There are no extra charges for clubs or materials.
5.3 Discounts: 7% for the first sibling and 10% for each additional sibling. If you pay the full school year's tuition in advance, you get a 5% discount. Schedules of 1 or 2 days a week are available only by agreement, at an adjusted daily rate.
5.4 The registration fee is 5,000 CZK once per school year. It reserves your child's place and covers the initial meeting and the adaptation plan. The registration fee is non-refundable, except in the cases in clause 10.6.
5.5 We do not change the price while the contract is running. A new price list can only apply from the next school year, and we'll tell you in advance.
6. Payments
6.1 Tuition is paid by bank transfer to our account or in cash, always by the 25th of the preceding month. So September's tuition is due by 25 August.
6.2 The registration fee is due when the contract is signed.
6.3 Fees are based on enrolment, not attendance. Tuition is not refunded for days your child doesn't come. Tuition is also not reduced for days when the school is closed under clause 7.4.
6.4 A day missed because of illness can be made up on another day if you let us know about the absence by 13:00 the previous day at the latest. The make-up day must be used by the end of the following month, subject to available space.
6.5 If a payment is late, we'll send you a reminder. We may charge statutory interest on late payments. A delay of more than 30 days after the reminder is delivered is grounds for termination under clause 10.4.
7. Daily operation
7.1 We're open Monday to Thursday 8:00 to 17:30 and Friday 8:00 to 17:00. Morning attendance ends at 13:00.
7.2 Please keep morning goodbyes short; it helps children settle more quickly. Drop-off and pick-up aren't a good time for serious conversations. If you need to talk something through, we'll set a time.
7.3 Late pick-up: after the end of morning attendance or after closing time there's a 15-minute grace period. After that we charge a flat fee of 200 CZK, plus 100 CZK for each additional 30 minutes or part of it.
7.4 The school is closed on public holidays, over the Christmas break, on Good Friday and Easter Monday, and in August. We publish the exact dates for each school year on our website and email them to you at the start of the year.
7.5 The summer programme in July is not part of the school-year contract and is booked separately.
8. Health and safety
8.1 Sick children belong at home. Please bring your child only when they're well, to protect the other children and the teachers.
8.2 If your child becomes ill during the day, we'll call you. Please pick them up as soon as possible, within 2 hours at the latest.
8.3 We give medication only when you provide it in the original packaging, with your child's name and clear dosage instructions.
8.4 Minor injuries receive first aid; our staff are first-aid trained. For anything more serious, we contact you immediately, and call emergency services if needed.
8.5 Please tell us about allergies, dietary restrictions and changes in your child's health in advance and in writing.
9. Pick-up and working together
9.1 We release your child only to you or to a person you have named in writing. Anyone new picking up your child must show photo ID.
9.2 Our approach to discipline is based on prevention and natural consequences. We never use physical punishment or humiliation. Please help us keep the school rules at pick-up, so children have clear boundaries.
9.3 We give you a daily update on how your child's day went. Sensitive matters are always discussed in private.
9.4 Please dress your child for messy play and for outdoor time in any weather. Pack indoor shoes and a change of clothes.
9.5 We publish photos and videos in which your child can be recognised only with your explicit written consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
10. Duration and ending the contract
10.1 The contract ends when the period it was concluded for runs out. We can end it earlier at any time by agreement.
10.2 Adaptation period: during the first month of attendance, either of us can end the contract by written notice. The contract then ends on the last day of that month.
10.3 After the adaptation period, you can terminate the contract in writing without giving a reason. The notice period is 2 months and starts on the first day of the month after we receive your notice.
10.4 We can terminate the contract in writing with a notice period of 1 month, starting on the first day of the month after you receive the notice, if:
- a payment is more than 30 days late after the reminder was delivered,
- these terms are repeatedly and seriously breached and a warning hasn't helped,
- your child repeatedly endangers the health or safety of other children and together we haven't found a solution.
10.5 Notice can simply be emailed to rymar@academymarina.cz. We'll confirm we've received it.
10.6 If the contract ends early, we refund tuition paid in advance for whole months after it ends. We refund the registration fee in full if we end the contract without any fault on your side, or if we cannot provide the place we promised.
11. Withdrawing from a contract made at a distance
11.1 We usually sign the contract in person at the school. If we conclude it at a distance (for example by email) or outside our premises, you as a consumer have the right to withdraw from it without giving a reason within 14 days of concluding it.
11.2 Send us your withdrawal by email or by post to our address. We'll refund your money within 14 days, using the same method you paid with.
11.3 If you asked for your child to start within the withdrawal period, you pay a proportionate part of the price for the days the service was already provided.
12. Complaints
12.1 If something isn't right, please tell us in person first. We can sort out most things straight away.
12.2 You can make a formal complaint about the service without undue delay, in person or by email to rymar@academymarina.cz. Tell us what happened and what you suggest. We'll confirm we've received it and resolve it within 30 days at the latest. We'll let you know the outcome by email.
12.3 If we can't agree, you as a consumer can turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), which handles consumer disputes out of court: Česká obchodní inspekce, ústřední inspektorát, oddělení ADR, Štěpánská 15, 120 00 Prague 2, adr.coi.cz. Compliance with consumer obligations is supervised by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, and the trade licence by the relevant trade licensing office.
13. Personal data
We process data about you and your child only as far as needed for the contract, for caring for your child and for meeting our legal obligations. You'll receive the details when the contract is signed. How we handle data from the form on our website is explained in our privacy policy.
14. Final provisions
14.1 The contract and these terms are governed by Czech law, in particular the Civil Code and the Consumer Protection Act.
14.2 We may change these terms, for example when the law or the way the school runs changes. A change applies to existing contracts only if we tell you at least one month in advance and you don't reject it in that time. If you reject it, you can end the contract as of the date the change takes effect.
14.3 These terms are available in Czech and English. If the two versions differ, the Czech version applies.
14.4 These terms are effective from 1 November 2026.
